Welcome!
Parsha Plates was specifically created to enhance your Shabbos table by highlighting a “food of the week” which is connected to the Parsha. Now we can combine our love for food and learning Torah together for an inspiring Shabbos seuda.
Hashem gave me this idea to create Parsha Plates as I am cooking anyways for Shabbos. Now, however, I can make a special dish specifically related to the Parsha. I put a lot of thought and creativity into each food of the week - some are forming the food into a certain shape related to the parsha and others use a pun or play on words of the name of the food which relates to the Parsha (anyone else love puns like me?).
I created a food of the week, but of course there are endless options of foods that connect to each parsha, and I would love to see your ideas! This project was meant to be a springboard to have each person’s creative juices flowing and you are more than welcome to make the food of the week your own!
Most of the Jewish holidays have associated food, so now is the time to do the same for each individual parsha! For example, on Pesach there are a variety of visual foods for kids to connect to such as with seder plate and it creates discussion for the family. A food of the week is especially helpful for our visual learners as the food of the week can help us remember and focus on a moment in the Parsha. Parsha Plates includes a variety of different foods from challah, fish, soup, vegetables, fruit, kugels, chicken, and desserts – in other words, food you are anyways preparing for Shabbos but can now be highlighted as the food of the week! These are recipes you will want to eat not just on Shabbos but all week long!
Enjoy using this website to make the recipes yourself, with your kids, grandkids, parents, grandparents, friends, for your students, or as a delicious dish to bring over to your host for Shabbos!
I hope Parsha Plates enhances your Shabbos seudas and wishing you a Shabbat Shalom and B'Tayavon!
