A Tearful Onion Soup Reunion
In this week’s Parsha, Yosef reunites with his father Yaakov and wept on his neck for a long time (Bereshis 46:29).
Food of the week = Onion Soup
Shabbat Shalom and B’tayavon!

Ingredients
4 Tbsp oil
5 cups sliced/diced yellow onions
1 tsp salt
2 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp basil
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp onion powder
3 Tbsp flour
4-5 cups water
Pepper to taste

Directions:

In a soup pot on moderate heat add oil, sliced or diced onions, and seasonings.

Stir occasionally for 15 minutes until onions are a golden-brown color.

Pour flour into the pot and continue stirring for another 2 minutes.

Slowly add water and simmer for another 30 minutes.

Optional: to make the recipe dairy you can sprinkle in shredded cheese.
